Man's Identity Stolen with the help of Verizon Wireless Ripoff Net

I opened up a wireless account in the mis 90's. Over the years Verizon Wireless bought the company.

I started to use my phone one evening only to discover Verizon Wireless had shut my service off. After an extensive argument with customer service (for lack of a better name) I was finally connected to fraud. I had to leave a message and wait on a return call the next day.

The message left for them told them they had let someone change the ID on my account and shut my service off. I also left my SS number that the account was registered in.

In their ifinite wisdom they left me a message the next day stating their was no account with my SS number.

I called fraud back. They would not even listen to what I was telling them. Since I did not have the ID number on the account they would not help me.

I finnally talked to a supervisor and asked him to please look at who owned that account 5 years ago, 5 months ago and 5 days ago. Then look for where I had signed off and allowed them to give it away.

After 4 1/2 hours The supervisor found everything I had said to be true. He then turned my phones back on and said no one could turn them off until fraud investigated.

One hour later my phones were off again. I had to call another time and talk to another supervisor. After the notes on the account were read the supervisor agreed to turn the phones back on. Again I was assured they would stay on.

The next time the phones were turned off the supervisor told me I would have to proove the company numbers were mine. These are the same numbers Verizon Wireless fraudulantly helped a person take over my account with.

Finnally I sent a fax to the original supervisor that had helped in the beginning. He got the phones back on and again said they would not go off again.

The next time I heard from Verizon Wireless they wanted to put my lines on a seperate account. Though I did not like this, I said fine but to keep in mind I was still taking them to court.

The next thing that transpired was almost unbelievable. They wanted me to open up a new account and pay any deposites needed. I was loosing all my deposites I had already paid. I was loosing my tenure of 10 years. I refused and reminded them they had broken the law, not me. They had helped with identity theft.

I have never heard from Verizin fraud or their legal department. I now feel it is time to take this to the media and let the world know. Our identity is precious. I must do all I can and exhaust every avenue there is so this don't happen to anyone else.

The supervisor that did the original research on the account finally did keep the phones on after the 4th time they went off. He also offered me all new phones of my choice with no contract. He said the other numbers would be shut off and the other person would have to open up a new account. He did get a new account set up.

I received my first phone and it had the other persons company number on the shipping slip. After 2 weeks the numbers are still on. I received my first paperwork on the new account and there is a 1 year contract on 2 phones and a 2 year plus on the other phone. I called and had the supervisor e-mailed that is handling the new phones so I could proceed with what I wanted and have not had a return call in 8 days.

The supervisor agreed several times Verizon had made a big mistake. That is why they thought it best to give me new phones. As I told him, the phones in no way cover the damage to me. He understood but said it would look better in court if they did something.

I personally feel when a large company like Verizon Wireless helps commit identity theft and fraud they should at least be honest in what they say. I am doing a news release soon. I feel the American people should know how dishonest Verizon Wireless is.
