In December I switched over to Verizon Wireless from Sprint PCS. On March 23 our phones were disconnected (not because of an unpaid balance) but, because they said that they found an account from over 7 years ago. I told him that I never had Verizon. The first person I talked to said that they purchased other companies like Alltel and Airtouch and it shows an unpaid balance but he didn't know what company. I told him that I wanted copies or something and we went back and forth and he hung up on me...
Then, I called the second time and talked to a different representative and I told her that I wanted to know the name of the first person and she said that there was no name or anything. I told her that I know there has to be notes, or an user id to track down. She insisted that she couldn't give me that information. Then, she told me that the bill was over $400.00 and it needed to be paid before my phones got turned on. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that she didn't have any. So I went on and said that I needed phone numbers or names in the district office or something. She refused to give me any information and said that I could only deal with her.
All of the sudden I was transferred to somebody else, which he told me that he was the supervisor. He was able to give me more information even from what company. I don't understand how they have notes for that but, not for the rude customer service representatives that they have. Told him then why did you guys let me get the contract back in 12/03. He said that the phone was disconnected on 1/97. That they purchased those companies back in 2000.
According to him, my account was transferred on 10. I just don't understand how they can do this. They said that we were going to be without service until it was paid and that it was going to be two weeks to get copies.
