While visiting in NY, I bought this pair of sneakers as a gift. I asked for a size 8 pair, paid and took the box without checking what's inside. When my friend received the gift she was surprised to discover that both shoes were right sided and that one was size 8 while the other was size 8.5.
I called the store and told the story. The girl that answered asked if I had the receipt. When I replied that I don't she said "we can't help you without the receipt". I tried to explain that I have the visa statement showing the transaction, but she kept saying that her boss said they can't do anything without the receipt.
I asked to speak with her boss and was told she was busy. I left my number and asked her to call me, but never heard back. A few days later I called again, this time I spoke with Zach the night manager. I told him the story and said I was interested in replacing the 8.5 right shoe with a left size 8 as I originally wanted. He checked and said they didn't have the left shoes. I said that in this case I would like to send the shoes back and get a money refund. He said that he could give me a store credit. I explained that I don't live in NY and will not be able to use this store credit, and since they can't provide the product I was interested in purchasing I would like to get my money back.
Then he asked when I made the purchase, I told him that it was 2-3 weeks earlier, so he said that their return policy is within 7 days of purchase and that it's written on the receipt. I thought that since the receipt mentioned I paid for a pair of left and right shoes and didn't receive it, their "policy" couldn't count. I tried to explain and make him understand but he kept saying that the store owner would not do anything more than 7 days of purchase.
I asked to speak with the owner, but was told that the owner does not want to talk to me, I asked for her name, and was told that they can't give her name. I again left my number and asked her to call me but never heard back.
I then decided to try "BC footwear"'s customer service since they were the shoe makers. They were very nice and understanding, however they said that they stopped doing business with the 8th street lab store more than 2 years ago! So they couldn't really help me.
So now I'm basically stuck w / 2 right sided sneakers, that I can't do much with and I lost my money.
This store is definitely the worst to do business with!!
