I received a call from a telemarketer offering a program to help people rebuild their credit. She advised there was a processing fee of $299, and I would receive a VISA credit card with a $2000 credit limit. Every 6 months the credit limit will be increased by $500 if all payments have been made on time. I was told I would receive my package in about a week.
Two weeks after my account was debited, I called the 800# I was given by the telemarketer, and was told it is 15-20 business days before I will receive the package.
When I received it, there were just a bunch of offers for discounts on services or products, and an application to apply for a secured credit card, with an additional processing fee of $45.
I called to request a refund, and was told a request would be submitted to see if I am eligible for a refund, and to call back in one week. Now that I see these other rip off complaints, I realize my refund request will be denied. I will be going to my bank to request a return of the funds.
