In early October I was called by Central Support and Savings by a salesman who told me I had been pre-approved for a credit card with a $2,000.00 limit. Since I have poor credit history and am currently trying to build my credit, I decided to go for it.
The salesman told me for an annual fee of $299.00 I would receive a credit card with a guarenteed limit of $2000 as well as some additional offers. I asked to make sure this wasn't one of those secured cards where you have to pay the amount of money you want on credit as a deposit, and he assured me that is was just a standard credit card. I also checked into how high the interest rate would be on the card and he told me it would be no more than the national average.
When I finally received what I thought was my card in the mail, it was exactly what I had feared - an application for a secured card - which as it says right on the form requires additional fees and is NOT a credit card and does not charge interest. When I called to get my money back, I asked to speak to a manager and they told me there were no managers and they do not give refunds.
I found this website and I am now working with my bank to get my money back and will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. Don't be a victim to their lies - do not do business with this company or any other company over the phone. It's a scam! If you do don't let them get away with it!!
