I purchased a Kitchenaid refrigerator from Lowes. When Lowes removed my old fridge, they didn't cover the floor and they scraped up my 7 day old Congoluem Xclusive floor. I told installer and when they brought the new one in they put cardboard on the floor, which did protect it. The installer insinuated that since my old fridge was partly pulled out from the wall, maybe the damage was already there (it was pulled out a little so that we could squeeze behind it to shave the bottom of the cabinet above making the installation easier for them). However, anyone can see from the photos that was impossible because the damage was from moving the fridge sideways. There is no way in the world we had the ability to move that fridge out completely and then sideways across my brand new floor!
Lowes sent out a man to take pictures and they saw the damage. They turned it in to their insurance company. The insurrance company kept putting me off and eventually turned it over to a new person there. I contacted her and she said that she needed additional documentation. I was leaving for vacation the next day. She said to just send the documentation when i returned and that it was no big deal because I would be away and wouldn't have to look at it!
When I returned from vacation, there was a letter from her saying they decided they were not responsible and the case was closed! I called her and left a message saying I did not consider it closed and hadn't even sent my pictures or receipt from the new floor yet! They never responded. End of story. Never, never again!
