Last year we were planning on changing our carpets and went to Home Depot. They asked us to put a $50 deposit (and told us that can be returned if we decide not to go with the Home Depot quote). Well they came did the measurements and in the end we did not change the carpets. We then went to ask for the refund and they said NO! We told them that we just had a major renovation (remodeling project) with them and that the least they could do was honor what was told to us that the deposit can be returned. This is the type of things that just make a customer not be loyal to a company. Seriously, $50 vs a project of 20K plus and they wouldn't give back the deposit? This just doesn't make any sense.
