At Cash-In we make up our policies as we go

On 2/4/07 I used my Cash-In Pre-Paid Debit card to rent some equipment from Home Depot. The Rental agreement was for a $100 security deposit and a $56.57charge to rent the equipment. I returned the equipment on 2/5/07. On 2/7/07 the $56.57 charge hit my account and the $100 security deposit was released by Home Depot, but the $100 deposit was not released by Cash-In.

After a few days I called Home Depot about the deposit. They said that they had released it, and that the problem was with Cash-In. Cash in charges $. 50 per customer phone call so I sent them an e-mail. After a few days with no response I sent them another e-mail. Then I called Home Depot again and they followed up with Cash-In, who told them that because the Deposit was for more than $100 it was there policy to keep the charge on the account for 30 days. Cash in charged me for two phone calls that were made by Home Depot, not me.

I have reviewed my documents from Cash-In and this so called Policy is not stated anywhere. It does state that there is a 30-day hold on transactions that are not released by the merchant, but this transaction has been released by the merchant several times. I was running $4K per month through my Cash-In account and now they won't return my phone calls or e-mails. Cash-in is a Ripoff, if you need a debit card go with Green Dot. They are much better to work with and they don't kill you with fees.
