Corporate Customer Service Beyond Arrogant

Called Corporate Customer Service to inquire about not receiving emails on upcoming sales and coupons when I signed up at the store. I also offered a suggestion that local management should have the authority to make case by case reasonable decisions regarding store coupon acceptance and discounts. I reiterated that this would be a good practice for good customer relations since I had received the wrong information at the store level when I filled out the initial form and never received any coupons nor emails. I was informed by the CSR that the "only reason that I called in was to get them to accept a coupon that was good only for yesterday" and that there was no other store that accepted coupons out of date. I indicated that in the same strip mall, just two doors down "Bed, Bath & Beyond" accepts their coupons of any date and that this information was not necessarily correct. I was then told that this was "price matching" and I was still only calling to get Big Lots to accept the coupon one day after the sale. The CSR was argumentative and insulting. When I asked to please speak to a supervisor, I was told that my call WOULD NOT be forwarded to his supervisor. That I was still only trying to get the coupon honored. I indicated that my request was to discuss his attitude toward customers on the telephone and, again, I was told that he would not forward the call. When I indicated that I would send an email, I was told that no problem because he answered the emails. Therefore, this complaint will, no doubt, get tossed in the trash. Trust me, Big Lots, you need the 20% from the coupon much more than I do. However, I can, and will, let everyone know of my treatment by your corporation, many many times over. You can certainly thank your CSR, Kyle Clark, (if real name) for promoting such a good report with customers. I truly hope it was worth it.
