This is the email I sent to Groupon after trying to complete a deal to get 500 thread count cotton sheets for $39. It was an incredibly annoying convoluted disfunctional process that felt like Groupon was trying to 'trick' customers via social engineering to give up their personal info to a 3rd party vendor.
I am unable to complete the order on their web page at http://gr. Pn/sqrhJK which takes me to an IP address which then goes to http://blanketamerica.com. The process is not working for me using IE, Firefox, Chrome & Opera. Their web page has been down for most of the day.
I would love to get these sheets, but their mucked-up web pages totally feel like a scam/phishing site. I had to create a log in at the IP address site, then go to blanketAmerica.com, log in again there and then was told I was not logged-in and to lot in at the top of the page—which did not have a login setup.
If you can get them to send me King Size sheets for an additional $5, great. Otherwise, please cancel my Groupon for this deal
Also, please don't offer deals to me in the future that require me to use my credit card on a 3rd party website you link to with a Pitcairn Islands redirect URL. You could have easily added $5 to the $39 deal for a one-time charge of $44 instead of forcing your loyal customers to have to trust an incompetent unknown vendor with our credit card info and person information such as name, address, email, default password and more.
This was a hugely annoying waste of time and a disappointing display of concern about customer security.
This was the shiftiest most insulting Groupon/Living Social/social media discount offer I have ever seen. I hope Groupon changes their policy on employees recklessly endangering customer security and loyalty in a malignant poorly implemented attempt to social engineer customer info to a 3rd party.
