I purchased a five shelf bookcase from Walmart on April 15. The next day, I attempted to put the bookcase together. However, several parts were missing, including two of the shelves. I called the manufacturer, who shipped the replacement parts by FedEx on April 19. Yesterday was nearly TWO WEEKS later, so I called the shipper, who provided a tracking number. This is where it begins to get a little strange. FedEx has had my package for the last two weeks!
I called the shipper, Ameriwood, yesterday. They provided me with the FedEx tracking number and when I log on to thewir website, I find out that the driver claimed to have made three delivery attempts - April 21, April 24 and April 25. AT NO TIME was a door tag even left nor did they try to send a postcard or contact me by some other means. I only found out that they had the shipment by accident.
Yesterday, they claimed that they would deliver the shipment this morning.By 11:30, nothing had come, so I started to call the depot in Avenel, which is where my package had been sitting since April 21. They claimed that the driver would deliver it by 11:50 and was leaving as I was on the phone. I called corporate to complain about the entire situation and became even more enraged when she called me Kruger and not Kreger - this was despite the fact that I SPELLED my name for her.
I took offense at her calling me Kruger, saying, "There's going to be a nightmare on your street if you ever call me that again.", which was a reference to the Nightmare on Elm Street slasher film series killer, Freddy Kruger. At no time did I threaten the lady. The lady, Suzette, in the corporate office, took that as a threat and held up the delivery of this package even further, getting security involved simply because I took offense at her pronouncing my name like the child killer in the movie. Sensitive much?
Anyway, when I explained the reference to security, they agreed that she had overreacted and told the depot manager to deliver my package, which contained the missing bookcase pieces. I called the Fedex corporate offices back and demanded that both Suzette and the driver who claimed that he delivered the package in the first place be terminated from their employment.
Melanie, also from the corporate office, actually listened to me and said my statements would be presented to upper management. When the depot manager arrived at the front door to my building, where I had been waiting, I told him that I wanted that driver fired. If he didn't take enough door tags for his route, that was not my problem, but his. The manager agreed and said he would be speaking to corporate.
All of this because the driver could not tell the truth about delivering the package and Suzette took my comment out of context because I got upset about her calling me Kruger. FedEx is a bunch of incompetent idiots!
