I live in an apartment complex in south Charlotte, NC. I order a lot of computer parts, etc. From many companies. I always specify "Do NOT USE FEDEX!" Of course, some idiot in a shipping department will ship through FEDEX anyway. Here's the problem: "FEDEX DOESN'T DELIVER!"
The FEDEX driver will drive straight to the apartment complex's office and drop off any packages he may have for deliver in the complex. He doesn't leave a note on your door or mailbox. That's how I know how he does things. Besides, I've never seen him drive around the parking lot. He leaves NO notice at all.
UPS will bring a package to my apartment door and if I'm not home (rarely) he will then take it to the apartment complex office, and he leaves a note on my door saying when he was here and what time and that he's going to leave it at the office. EXCELLENT WORK ETHIC!
Now I know it is this particular FEDEX driver that is too lazy to do his job. I know this because last week a different FEDEX driver actually delivered my package to my apartment door. (I told him he needs to go to work for UPS.)
But the ole driver is back now so my next package that was supposed to be delivered five days ago was delivered to the front office again and I got it yesterday after checking the FEDEX web site and finding out it was showing as "delivered".
FEDEX needs to fire the lazy driver they have servicing this area. And they need a "complaints" link put on their website. But then of course they'd be overwhelmed with complaints and maybe learn how to run a delivery service properly.
