I was in desperate need of a car back in 2010 for a job I took in Carrollton, TX... So i heard about KARZ in some publication around town and had my friend take me to their lot once i saved up enough money to put a down payment on one. Well i drove off the lot in a 2001 Chevy Malibu. Which I immediately found problems with shortly after taking it home, but i ignored them as they were minor and i was just glad to be no longer riding DART. But about 4-5 months into having the car i started noticing more and more issues. The car was squeaking loudly, the roof lamp wasn't even CONNECTED so i had no interior light in the car, the CD player only worked some of the time, and worst of all, I was pregnant with my daughter and the car started to over heat terribly and had even stopped on me in the middle of the road on the busy intersection of Midway @ IH-635! But i continued to try to make it to work as it was the only thing that kept me afloat. Well, ultimately i couldnt even drive the car for more than maybe 4 minutes before it was totally hot! (all the way over on the cold / hot meter) So i called them and told them that I was pregnant, my car was over heating I cannot drive it and i need to have it repaired. They offered to repair it at "their shop" with "their mechanic" and to allow them to have it towed in. Which i told them that i would have to call back on because i was unable to have that done at the moment... Well i went to bed that night and woke up the next morning. I went downstairs to get in my boyfriends car so that he could take me to work and they had taken my car already. (luckily i had emptied it out already!) So i just waited to get the call that they had advised me of to quote the repair costs. A week went by... A week and a half went by... I finally lost my patience and called. They informed me that my car was "repossessed for non payment" BULL! I had been current with the exception of maybe 1-3 late payments which never exceeded the following pay cycle and was always paid in full. I had no balance on my acct aside from if they were counting the week i didnt even have the car when they took it from my residence! I don't see how it could be a matter of non payment when i didnt even have the car in my possesion!
I never pushed the envelope i just hung up in the guys face as he attempted to inform me that " i could always come back to the lot and put another down payment on a car" (SERIOUSLY? After spending over $2,000 on that car?!)
Nonetheless, i have a infant, a new job, and another desperate need of a car. So, I go back. Fork over another $500-$600 bucks and drive off in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. Which as the days/weeks progressed i found to have many issues as the last car. This car does not have A/C, the car stops randomly, (i have been reversing the car and the car will just cut off and i'll have to put it in park, turn the ignition off, and crank it again to start moving... Quite embarrassing when you're in front of other cars trying to make a right turn... Or quite scary when you're making a quick U-turn with your 9 month old in the backseat and cars coming full speed) the back seat to the car is totally unattached at the bottom... (one day i accidentally found this out and even found a pair of flip flops lodged underneath... I politely left them where they were) the air bag im sure doesnt exist, as the dashboard area where it is located seems to have been taken out because that area is TOTALLY a diff color than the other parts. The car a few times has just NOT started. I've had to get my car jump started like 3 times since i got it... Overall, a lemon. Do i still have the car you may ask? No. They once more repossessed my car. This time, yes, for non payment. As i informed the lady in the payment office i had lost my job and was awaiting unemployment benefits. My payment was a week late and due YESTERDAY! They came and got it last night with my daughter's carseat still inside along with her stroller and other important brand new items in the trunk. I will be going to the office tomorrow to get my things back. If they give me any issues on getting my daughter and my things, i will be going to jail! *further update will come tomorrow*
