J.D. Sold me a lemon, fired my carsalesman and their entire mechanical staff within 4 months of selling me my car

O.K., To start off, I am a single mother raising 3 small children and do not have much experience buying cars (seeing as how I have no family in the Atlanta area). I am just trying to make a living for myself and my children. However, I have truely learned the importance of doing your homework when buying ANY car.

I went to J.D. Byrider to get a car because I was in a bind. I had no transportation and I was depending on a friend to get myself to work, and my babysitter to transport the childern back and forth from childcare. My childcare-giver started to have some issues and could no longer transport my children back and forth. Therefore I was put in a position where I had to get a car fast. I called J. D Byrider.

I explained to the representative (DAVE), that my credit was not that great and that I had a very small down payment. We set up an appt. And I went in (alone) BIG MISTAKE! I enedeD up staying in the car dealership for 5 hours and in that time was given the choice of 3 cars. The first one I drove, I couldnt turn the steering wheel. The second one, I wouldn't even consider test-driving, and the last one, it drove okay. I was told that because of my credit, these were the only 3 cars I could choose from and that they didnt want to give me a car at all.

Needless to say, yes I was desperate because I didnt want to lose my job due to lack of transportation. So I agreed on the 3rd car. I was then told that I needed to pay $500 in deferred payments to bring my down payment up to $800.00. I was then videotaped and signed the paperwork.

The car ran fine at first, but I did think it was funny that by the time I made my first deferred payment, my carsalesman had been fired. PLEASE do not get me wrong, I am not placing all the blame on this company, for I was in such a rush that I didnt do my homework, but after reading all the posts on this website, there is clearly something wrong with this company.

When I started having problems out of the car, THEY WERE MAJOR ONES. I would get in the car to go to work and it wouldnt start. I had it towed in to be repaired. I spoke with a man named DARKO, who worked in the service dept., who kept the car for 3 days and said to pick it up. I did, and my car had the same problem, plus the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I took the car back in and DARKO put it on a machine which made the light go off temporarily, he then told me that if it comes back on, that the car needed time to adjust to the new code it was given and to give it 2 weeks before bringing it back.

It didnt last two weeks, it began stalling. I dropped the car off again to Darko, who called and told me my car was fixed again and to pick it up. I did and the next day the ENGINE light came back on. I reported this and made another appt. To have the car serviced but one week later (Their service appt take weeks), I get in my car to go home from work at 10:00PM, and my car wont start, I was stranded at work. The car had to be towed back to the dealership the next day.

I called the dealership and found out the name of the General manager. His name is Pierce &. I called and couldnt get him on the phone for 2 days, so I showed up in person. No lie, you guys I was so frustrated that I sat in this mans office and cried about this car. He told me that he had fired his entire service dept (including DARKO), and that I should give him a chance to make this right.

He promised to have it fixed when I went out of town the next week. Nevertheless, I came back in town after being gone for a week (which is two weeks after I spoke to Pierce), and my car is not fixed. I was told that my car was being towed to a Chevy dealership 2 miles down the road because

"My car was doing things that they had never seen any car do". They kept giving me different days as to when my car would be fixed. We are now into the second week and my car is still not fixed. I got angry and went in to see PIERCE again. When i got there, this man did not remember who i was although i had cried in his office and my car had been there for two weeks. I asked him who his supervisor was and was told that this would be handled by him and he wouldnt give me that information. I was told that the only thing he could do was have his supervisor call me.

I asked him to do that and the next day I get a call from a MR. REX —, who was nice enough, but talks to you as if he is reading off a script. He agrees to get my car fixed ASAP, and reimburses me partially for my rental car for past few weeks. But by this time I am out of money and have put off some of my bills to pay for the rental, so the money he gives me, I play catch up on my bills with and have to return the rental car.

J.D. Byrider kept my car for a full month (I HAD NO TRANSPORTATION) and when I got my car back, it was still running funny. I called back to the dealership, asked for REX, and was told that he was out of town because the FOUNDER of J.D. Byrider was killed in a plane crash (PER PIERCE &). All of this, and yet I still hadnt had this car six months. Let this be a lesson to anyone who is thinking about buying a car from this company, Do your homework first!!!

J.D. JUNK-RIDER sells lemons and does not care because its legal!!! To any associate that works for this company and is reading this message, GOD will not bless you if you knowingly participate in frauding people to make your pockets thicker. If there is anyone else in Georgia that would like to take the issues with this company to the media, I am seriously considering it. I cant believe this is legal.

OH, I tried to trade this car in and learned that this car is worth $1,500.00, I currently owe over $8,000.00 on this car.
