Customer since 2006. Canceled service 1/2012 and was denied refund for overpaid bill. Made credit card payment due to representative stating a balance was due on the account (my mistake). Reviewed statements at home to find this to be incorrect. Spoke with multiple representatives over 1 hour and 15 minutes (counting only the last interaction). Was told "Decemeber wasn't paid", "November wasn't paid", "October wasn't paid", multiple changes in reason for denial. All months were paid in full with receipts to prove. This went through an Advanced Billing Representative, that I was not allowed to speak to, and circled back to a billing rep that was unable to assist due to her lack of seniority.
This company has done this circular behavior for most of my account time. They are quick to add services and charges to your account, but are very slow and calculated when they are challenged with their billing or services decreased. Telephone time has doubled if not tripled since starting my account and service calls are agonizing and costly. I didn't realize how many problems I have had until I reviewed all of my correspondences. HughesNet claims to be the alternative to internet, however, I will never use this company again due to its practices. The cost to service is not worth the hassel. If given the choice, please consider another internet service. There is another way.
