I am writing to complain about erroneous billing and unresponsive service on the part of Sony Financial Services. I am being billed for $72.76 that I do not owe the company. I have not been able to resolve the problem on my own.
On 2/4 I made a loan agreement with Sony Financial Services (connected with American Investment Financial). I paid the full principal balance by the 6-month interest free period, before the accrual of interest. Yet I have been receiving bills for remaining principal balance, interest, and late charges. I have called multiple times and the problem has not been resolved.
I paid the amount in three installments with personal checks that paid off the principal balance before the interest free period was over.
I have been getting bills listing $66.43 of principal balance unpaid. I have contacted Sony Financial Services at least 4 times.in September when I spoke with a customer service representative, I was told I would receive a call back within a week. I never received a call.in October I again spoke with a service representative.
I was told that the computer system was malfunctioning and there was likely an error in my bill and that it would be resolved shortly. I was told a financial service representative would contact me shortly. I never received a call. A week later in October I again called to resolve the problem. I expressed my concern that I was not being contacted by the financial service representatives as promised, that the bill was still incorrect, and that the bill now claimed that I was delinquent in my payment.
I expressed concern that this would adversely affect my credit rating through no fault of my own. I was told that there was a computer error and that a financial service representative would call me. I never received a call.in November I again called expressing my concerns and making a complaint. I was told that there was a computer problem and that it would be resolved within the next two weeks. The problem has still not been resolved: just today in mid November, I again received a bill stating that my account is 90 days past due and is delinquent.
I have made every reasonable effort to resolve the dispute, yet Sony Financial Services has been unable to get a financial services agent to contact me, much less resolve the problem. I would like a statement from Sony Financial Services confirming that I have paid the balance in full, but I cannot even speak to a financial agent!
This company is unprofessional and completely unacceptable.
