I got several cold calls from CMC Corp over the course of 2 months and finally after all the badgering I agreed to try a small sample of their product Green Gobbler drain cleaner. The salesman Rich Walters said that only if I liked how the product worked would I be responsible for payment. I immediately recieved an invoice for 131.15 which was way more than what the salesman quoted. I immediately called back and said that I was unhappy with the product and that I definatelty did not want any more. They ignored me and sent out an additional 50 lbs of the product. I called them and said that I never wanted any more of the product and that they needed to take it back since it was still unopened. They were very rude and said that they were going to send me to collections if I didn't pay the $299.46 for the second shipment. So now the total is up to $430.61 for a supposed free trail. I called the company and they said that they don't offer any sort of trial and that I agreed to several shipments with several separate invoices. That is simply not true. I asked to talk to a supervisor about this scam and she was worse than the salesman. How can they send you to collections for an invoice that was never valid in the first place? Don't they have to offer some sort of proof of an agreement? Either a signed contract or a taped phone conversation? Bottom line is this company sends you a buch of stuff that you never agreed to/wanted in the first place. Then refuses to take it back so they can bill you. The product is unused, unopened, unwanted and they still refuse to take it back. I have filled with the BBB and will fight this all the way. I can't believe this type of business practice goes unchecked. After doing some research I've found that I'm not the only one this happened to. They can try to take me to court because they have no proof of any sort of agreement because the conversation never took place.
