I have a 2000 Ford Contour SVT that I bought from my daughter. This car is in perfect shape except that the dash is rolling up from the windshield back. The glue is inferior and gave away. I have contacted Ford and they informed me that there was a recall on this and get in touch with my local dealer. I did and they informed me that there was a recall, however, it expired, and that the car was 10 years old, what did I expect. It was my problem. This car has only 61000 miles on it and is almost always garaged. This to me is also a safety problem as the dash rolled up has caused the vent and defroster not to work properly. The dealership gave me a 800 number to call, and that gentleman also said that all he could do is document the complaint, and could not help me in any other manner as the complaint would go back to the dealership. Now I ask, what good is that? I also asked for a estimate on the dash repair and he said that he could not help me there either. Why? And then I thought, well it they can't do it right the first time what makes me think they can do it this time? Why can't you stand behind this and pop the windshield out, glue the dash down and call it good customer relationship? Maybe you don't need to sell more vehicles?
