I have waited now for over a year for Ford to repair my defective dashboard that was included in a recall notice from them.
I have a 1999 Ford Contour that was recalled last year due to the dash board warping. When I called them the first time to make an appointment I was told that the part would need to be ordered and it would be at least a couple of months and that they would send me a postcard when the part arrived.
Well, months and months passed and I never received anything from them. I finally called Ford customer service and they told me to take it to any Ford dealer to have the repairs done. There is a Ford dealer less than 2 miles from my home (I moved since purchasing the car) and when I took my car there they looked at it and told me I HAD to take it back to the dealer that I had bought the car from. Even though that dealer is now more than 30 miles away and takes me almost an hour to get there I called them and took my car there only to have them tell me they couldn't do anything about it until they received, yes you guessed it a part! This was back at the end of August. It is now almost the end of November and I have heard nothing from them and when I call I'm told the same story that the part hasn't arrived.
Ford is a huge company that doesn't care about customer satisfaction once they get you to buy their product. I for one will NEVER buy another Ford or any other car made by the Ford Motor Co.
