I have a 2000 Ford Contour SVT that I bought from my daughter. This car is in beautiful shape with 61,000 miles on it. Mostly garaged. I have a metal polishing product and use this car as a demo at the shows. The only problem is the glue on the dash by the windshield is giving away and it is rolling back. I called Ford and was told that there was a recall on it. My daughter stated that she never received a notice and I know that I did not. I was informed to get in touch with the local dealership. They stated that the recall had expired and it was my problem not theirs. Ane the car was 10 yrs old, what did I expect. I expect the glue to hold longer than 10 years as I have owned many different cars and this is the only one that has had this problem. It is in perfect condition except for the dash. They gave me an 800 number which I called and was informed by the gentleman that he just documents the conversation and there was nobody higher that him. I asked him where does this documentation go and he said back to the dealership as they are the only ones that can fix it. When I asked them at the dealership how much it would cost to fix it, he said he didn't know! Now how trouble would it be to pop out the windshield and glue the dash down? Now, when I show it and people ask what happened, I just tell them, "I bought a Ford". Can you or do you even want to help? Or like the dealership says, "it is 10 years old". They sure don't seem to care about customer service. Do you?
