I ordered a medicine cabinet for my bathroom on 11/18.
They stated a 4-6 week lead time for delivery at the time of order.
Each time I checked their website for an update, it said the order was being prepared for shipment, which I thought would be normal until they shipped on the 4th, 5th, or 6th week.
After the 6th week of waiting, I called the customer support line. My service rep was nice enough and seemed like he wanted to help me out.
He told me there was a 'glitch' in the system and that my order was not placed with the manufacturer, Robern.
I was horrified, as I am preparing my home for sale and need this item.
He told me that he would expedite the order in the system and ship as soon as possible.
Each time I called back to check the status of my order (every few days) I got a different person, and each told me a slightly different story.
I finally received my order 12 weeks after initially placing it with American Home Plus.
By that time, I had to purchase another cabinet locally so that I could show my home. I accepted an offer on my home before I ever received shipment on my order.
American Home Plus would not accept cancellation, and would not take a return.
I now have a brand new medicine cabinet that I will not use.
Anyone want a brand new medicine cabinet? I will ship 1000 times faster than American Home Plus.
All-in-all, this was one of the worst internet shopping experiences - ever.
If you choose to purchase something from American Home Plus, be prepared... They have low prices for a reason.
