Stolen Phone

I had trouble with my cell phone service I called several time to complain the problem was not resolved. I was promised a new phone Sprint sent my several phones that only worked for a limited time. I advised the company that I wanted to cancel and that I would call to cancel on my next bill cycle date. During one of these discussions a member of sprint advised me of the buy back program. So i stated that i would take advantage of this and send my phone back as soon as i canceled. Sprint recieved my phone took it and resold it to another customer and never gave me a dime. They stated that I needed to have an open account in order to take advantage of the Buy Back Program. I sent a complaint to the BBB which Sprint refused to reimburse me for the value of the cell phone. They also took my deposit and applied it to my account and sent me a $11 check instead of applying the valu of the cell phone to my account. I feel that if I could walk into any business and conduct a transaction like this i would have walked away with one or the other and not been taken advantage of. If I would have walked into a store they would have refuse to take my phone or they would have taken it. Sprint has these mail in only tactics so that they can take advantage of customers. They simply told me know you didnt follow these guidelines and resold my phone. I feel that this is totaly unfair for them to profit off of my phone as they did. The phone was valued at $300 at the time and as everyone knows cell phones become obsolete almost over night therefore the only fair resolution is to this would be to pay me the face value of my phone. I feel that the company will respond if you run a story on why cell phone companies refuse to handle all transaction face to face in there stores. They would rather send out a bag and pay for shipping rather than permit customers to be told the truth face to face and take responsibility for what they tell customers.
