Has not ported my number yet and it has been over a week now

I was/still am a Cingular (Houston Cellular and all the other names before that) customer for over 15 years. I was not happy with rate plan or service so I decided to go with Sprint. I signed up on Thursday, and was told my numbers would be ported by that afternoon. Afternoon came and nothing happened. Sprint called me that night and verified some more info and said porting would be completed in a few hours. NOPE! It has now been 10 DAYS and still nothing. I can call out on my Sprint phones but cannot receive incoming calls. My cell phone is my business phone. All Sprint can say, which is getting rather irritating is "I apologize for the inconveinance". My business is losing money, my customers are having trouble contacting me, and I am now paying 2 cell phone bills - Sprint and Cingular.

Sprint is not accepting responsibility. They are blaming the so called "third party" porting company. I was told to blame it on the FCC and I was told to blame Cingular for not letting my number go.

Come Monday, June 28 if Sprint can't get it right, I am cancelling and going back to Cingular. No wonder the newspaper article today shows Verizon is ahead of Sprint. I may just check out Verizon.

If you are thinking of porting (taking your old cell number with you) your phone to Sprint, DON'T DO IT!!!
