Complaint / Review
AT&T
U-verse

I had a tech out to install U-verse (having to have a 4 hour appt. And a 2 hour arrival time slot = 6 hours of my time) after the salesmen in an AT&T store told me I could keep my normal DSL/internet (at the lower rate, mind you) and add U-verse to my TV. The tech that came out was very nice and knowledgeable, apparently more so than the salesmen. He proceeded to tell me that we could not keep our DSL/internet line, as it was not compatible. We would now have to switch over to the the higher priced internet & TV package with U-verse in order to get it on our TV and not lose our internet, contrary to what we were told on more than one occasion by the store. That being said, we were okay about possibly changing, but then we were going to be charged more per month to do so. That did not seem fair at all, as we were told we could keep our original DSL and if this was a screw up on their end not mine, maybe they could give us the same deal for internet, it is the same company after all. We even called on the phone afterward to ask more questions and see if they would give us the same internet deal/price in order to save our business. Their answer was no. I am very dissatisfied. I waited 2 years for U-verse to come to my area and now I don't have it and have a bad taste in my mouth about AT&T. Maybe, AT&T could be satisfied with taking my money for my phones and TV and cut me a break on internet, due to their screw up or uneducated employees.in my business and most, if your agent gives information to a customer, you need to stand by it. Apparently AT&T does not agree with that kind of customer service, therefore how can you believe or depend on anything they say?
