ATT U-verse Installation - installation

I had emailed back and forth with ATT to see if U-Verse was available in my area. I finaly was told that it was, I called and set up U-verse, Internet and my home phone that is already with ATT. We do not have much time off and they were ablle to make an appointment for the installation. The man came and was here for a long while. He then told me that he had called in and found out that the pole was too far away from the house but that I would be getting a call and engineers would come out to put up something on the house. I waited a couple days and no call. I called today and when I got a human she said that they were sorry but we could not get U-verse. They should remember people take days off to be home for them and dont say that ATT will call when they do not. I wasted a great deal of time on the phone and with the installer and no U-verse. The woman on the phone could not answer any of my questions. This is not good service and I really would have liked to get U-verse. I also got a letter today from ATT U-verse thanking me for my U-verse order and telling me how to use my account.
