Purchased a Kenmore 30 inch Electric
Range (Model 22-94212). The purchase included a 2 year extended warranty. Within 8 months of purchasing the range, Sears has replaced all 4 drip pans 4 times and replaced the stove top. The enamel from the drip pans is flaking off and melting to the stove top. Since the stove top was replaced on 5/10/10, whenever I use the stove I only use 2 burners & remove the other 2 burners & drip pans hoping to defuse the heat. It does not work. The drip pans are still flaking. The situation is totally ridicules. I am using the correct size pans & never cook on a high temperature. I was told by a Sears repairman that I cook too much and that the problem is due to the range being on too long. I was also told that I am the only person to ever have this problem which I find hard to believe. I have yet to use the self-cleaning features due to the excessive heat emitted by the range. Sears has put more money in repairs ($941.00 in parts and services) than its total purchase price. I did not purposely purchase a range that I would be unable to use. There is definitely something wrong with the design of the range. It is dangerous.
