On 1/5/10 I placed a phone order with mercantila customer service for a
"Phoenix Power Bench" home gym. I was informed that this item was "in stock" and ready for shipment. According to their ad on ebay, there were "10 or more" available and it shipped the next day. I placed an order and received an email order confirmation within a few hours. The next day 1/06 I received an email from the shipping dept stating that this item is on backorder until 3/30/10 but, for another $50.00 they would send me an upgraded gym "normally worth $150.00 more than what I ordered or, I could cancel. I opted to cancel and confirmed this by email on the 6th. Their customer service doesn't have a clue; they told me that it could take from 6-12 business days to receive a refund. I finally decided to call them after receiving an email saying that they were dealing with a lot of returns but, that they would "expedite" my return. This is the last I have heard from them and it has been six days since I placed the order that was supposedly in stock and would ship fedex the next day... Completely unacceptable!!! They obviously don't give a rats ass about their reputation or repeat business
