It's been said a thousand times on yelp, epinions, resellerratings, and many other websites. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. The prices may seem great, and the fake 5 star reviews that are posted on Epinions look enticing, but you will wait, and wait, and wait and be lied to over and over again. It's just not worth it.
Day 1) Saw great price on a 60" Samsung LED TV that was in stock ($2400). Placed Order.
Day 2) After reading bad reviews about Abes of Maine scamming customers I immediately call to insure the product is in fact in stock and ready to ship. I spoke with Sam who explained that the product IS in stock and would ship within 24-48 hours. After declining extended warranties, upgraded mounts, HDMI cables, and "white glove shipping" he finally confirms that the order "has been placed" and it will ship out with 24-48 hours.
Day 4) Order status changes to "Sent To Warehouse"
Day 5) Send email to find out actual status of my order. No
response.
Day 6) Send email again to [email protected] to find out the actual status of my order. No response. Send email to "Vice President David Mosseri" as he responds to bad reviews and am told that they "had a malfunction with their server" which is delaying peoples orders from shipping.
Day 7) Call and speak with someone who says that they cant find out why it has not shipped. They state they "will have to call their distributor" to find out when the TV will ship to them. THE TV WAS NEVER IN STOCK!
Day 8) I call to find out the status and am told by "Jacob" that they "expect a truck on Monday" and it SHOULD have the product I ordered and I SHOULD expect to receive it within 5-8 days after that. 20 days after placing my order?!? No thank you.
I decided enough is enough. I told him to cancel my order and called my credit card company to make sure that if the refund is not processed within 24 hours it will be reversed as what Abes of Maine has done is considered FRAUD.
Recap of the lies
1) I was told the item was in stock at THEIR facility (I was then told it SHOULD ship from the distributor to Abes of Maine a full 12 days after placing my order).
2) I was told the item would ship out within 24-48 hours by Sam when I called to make sure it was in fact in stock and ready to ship. (Didn't happen)
3) Abes of Maine website states that the item would ship out within 1-3 days (Never happened)
4) I was told that I would receive a status update on the 8th morning (Never happened)
5) Abes of Maine website lists that your card will not be charged until the item ships (Item never shipped, yet card was charged day after I placed order).
Do not do business with this company!
