I went in at 8:20am, to sign up as a new donor. Around 11am, i was seen, and given the pre-medical paperwork. About 11:25 i was seen by the nurse. During our conversation about my history, i mentioned about how i had quit drinking, and had 131 days sobriety, and that i considered myself an alcoholic. She called the med. Doctor, and said i was deferred from donating until dec. I would have to disagree with that finding. I would think you want plasma that is alcohol free; not like the guy that was sitting next to me and said that he had drank a 5th of captain morgan the night before. He was a regular, and allowed to donate. I'm going to look into the possibility of this being discriminatory.interstate's policy obviously has to be changed.
