I have lived in the low income apartments behind this store for 3 yrs. I am constantly being ripped off by this family owned store. They have no real cash register system to keep them on the honest track. Their very old cash register doesn't calculate up the State Tax so they just throw on some extra numbers to make up for it. It also doesn't have any itemization on the receipt so they can key in extra charges and you are not aware of the "bill padding". I buy the same thing almost everyday and each time they charge me a different price and get very hostile to me when I question the prices. One of the items I always buy is a 2-liter of Pepsi, on the cooler door has sticker price of $1.99 I get to register and they tell me it'll be over $3 I question the owner and he got mad and walked over to the cooler and ripped the sticker down, didn't say anything and still overcharged me. I have also witnessed him selling alcohol and cigerttes to minors, one time I told him he just sold to a minor (who he knows is underage) and that was illegal and he stated "oh well, not my problem". He has also allowed my neighbor to buy cigerettes with her food stamps instead of cash. They feel they can take advantage of the poor because poor people don't have the means to do anything to stop the abuse. They do not have to be accountable for the business ethics. The very worst thing is they own 4 other stores in the Vancouver area and are abusing and profiting off the poor and elderly. Please help... They need to be stopped!!
