On January 16 the first day tickets went on sale for Wicked musical in Birmingham AL, I went online www.ticketmaster.com at 10 A.M. To order tickets. There was a lot of traffic and I finally got to order tickets. I thought the $188.00 price was high but just thought this was the reg price. I ordered 5 seats, charged to AMEX, for Row M right orchestra. Total of the order was $1,095.00 - $940.00 for the five tickets, $14.95 for the fex ex order which my maid signed my name to when delivered. I was also charged $141.00 "service charge".
The tickets were delivered while I was away on Jan 20th and a maid signed for them! I had planned to return and not sign for them. I opened the package and saw the $68.00 ticket price!!!
This makes total per ticket of $219.00 each!
Since that time I have talked to a supervisor at Tickets Now and he said it was a "legal practice" in Illinois and I couldn't do anything about it! Apparently he is right.
I looked at my confirmation email and noticed it was from TicketsNow NOT Ticketmaster and immediately called TicketMaster. At that toll free number I was able to get 5 gets for regular price the next day performance on Right orch row U (a few rows back from the $219.00 tickets!)
I rebutted the charge with AMEX but they said since I clicked yes I accept the charge I am stuck with the cost.
How can a company do this. Supposedly these were PRIME seats but I called same day and ordered same tickets a few rows back for $75.00 each.
I have definitely been scammed and would like to help other consumers avoid this. It was like TicketsNow pirated the Ticketmaster website right when they went online. I am LIVID!!!
Help! Suggestions are Welcome!
