Rip off scammmm

A close friend of mine sent this to me and I felt that everyone show know about how Hampton tickets are being scalped when scalping tickets is illegal.

A couple of weeks ago I signed up for the lottery for Phish tickets. Didn't get them. So Saturday I sat behind my computer for an hour trying for the public onsale. No luck. When you signed up for the lottery, you were very clearly warned not to get tickets from scalpers or on ebay or stub hub. Fair enough. They said specifically that anyone caught selling their tickets on these sights would get canceled orders and not get their tickets. Similar to what happened at the Obama benefit concert at Penn State. Sounds o.K. To me so far. Keep reading.

So when you went to buy tickets and were told there were none, ticketmaster gave you the option to go to ticketsnow.com, a Ticketmaster owned ticket broker site. When you go there, there are many Phish tickets available, starting at $364 each! Ticketsnow.com guarantees their tickets. They guarantee that not only will you get a good/real ticket, but if there is a problem with your ticket, they will get you into the venue no matter what. How can ticketmaster tell you they will cancel your tix if you sell them on ebay, yet offer another ebay-type site to sell them on?

Sounded too bad to be true, so I called them. And sure enough they told me 1) even with a sold out event, if your ticket is bad they will get you in anyway. So they will overcrowd an event to keep their good name. Either there are seats available or not, right? 2) I asked, how could you guarantee these tix if you were warned not to sell them? And I was told that because they are all owned by ticketmaster, it was o.K. Ticketmaster won't cancel you tix if you sell them on ticketsnow, but they will if you do on ebay or stubhub.

Only 1 person I know actually got tickets for these shows. It makes me wonder how many tickets ticketmaster put aside for themselves. Thousands, possibly millions of fans are without tickets yet right now there are 477 tickets for sale on ticketsnow.com at more than 7 times the face value.

I am so outraged! I can't even believe this is legal. And i wonder how much Phish knows or is allowing this. Is anyone else sickened by this?
