Held X-Mass presant for ransom! Said to pay or presant would be sent back to sende

I was sent a X-mass gift from my brother in Florida, which he mailed from the Cross Creek post office on December 9, He paid parcel post postage at the post office and the post office affixed a postage stamp of $10.66 and stamped the address label with a "red" PARCEL POST stamp.

When the package arrived to my Corrales Post Office on December 17 the Postal service notified me that I had a package with postage due. I ask the clerk why, since there was a metered stamp on the package,? The clerk stated that the address label was a "priorty mail" label and I had to pay the additional cost even though the label was stamped in red ink PARCEL POST and the so called priorty mail background on the label was so faint that I had to have the clerk point out where it said priorty mail.

When I ship packages priorty mail @ the Post Office the clerk always straps the package with 2" wide tape that has "Priorty Mail" printed in blue and red ink with the USP Service logo and stamps the package label as well, this package only was stamped "PARCEL POST".

Then I also ask how long priorty mail takes to come from Florida? She replied 3 Days, but it is not garenteed. I pointed out to her that it took 8 Days to get here, which is how long Parcel Post should take. This made no difference to her and she told me that I had to pay the additionl postage of $5.59 or the package would be returned to the sender!

Had the USPO shipped the package "Priorty Mail" and arrived in 3-4 days I could understand the postage due charge, but taking 8 days I feel I was blackmailed into paying the extra postage for this X=mass gift.

I call the USPS consumer complaint dept. And was told that the additionl fee was due because the label was a priorty mail label and I could only file a complaint that it took too long to get to me for the "priorty mail" fee that I had to pay to get the package.

It is like talking to a brick wall when dealing with the USPS, They just can't admit when they are wrong.
