Dry Wizard
Outrageous rip off

We own a rental property & the tenant flushed the toilet and left the house. She came back & the place was flooded with water coming out of the toilet bowl. It was on a Sunday & my husband googled emergency water service and found Dry Wizard. They advertised "No out of pocket money, will deal directly with your insurance co".

My brother in law took a wet vac there & they started sucking out water before "Dry Wizard" arrived. Two guys showed up approx. 4:15pm. My brother in law offered 2 guys to help them but they refused. They sucked the water out, removed the carpet, tore out all my baseboards, set up lots of fans & left about 9:45pm.
I called my insurance the next day, finding out that they would not cover the expenses. Immediately I called Dry Wizard & told them & asked them how much it would be.
He faxed me an invoice for $5,600!

The invoice is so ridiculus, I would like to put it here for everyone to see. They charged us for 19 different things. Example:
Moisture mapping $140.85 & thermal imaging $281.70, whats that for? We all knew where it was coming from! Clean water out of the toilet!
Emergency serv. $175, ok but overtime $422 & itemized labor of Baseboard removal $75, carpet removal $264.60, furniture moving $390, And a whole lot more!

After I made a negative comment about the invoice, they went there, took their fans down & send they would lower the invoice to $4,823.55, saying their giving me a break since the place is dry a day earlier! (If it was insurance money, they would have kept them there 3 days)
Tuesday morning my brother in law went there & seen the pile of carpet & baseboards on the lawn and called me telling me what idiots they were. The baseboards were only wet an hour and should have been taken off nicer so I could still use them.

Oh yeah, they were charging me $250 to haul this stuff away on the invoice. I called Dry Wizard & told them NOT to come haul it away. And he said OK, we wont. I wanted to pick out the few baseboards that could be reused AND we had a truck to take it to the dump for $7. I was over there an hour later & everything was gone!

If you can legally charge someone almost $5,000 for 6 hours work & fan rental, we all need to start that business!

We are getting an attorney for this also!
This is insane!
