SMART CIRCLE - VIZION MANAGEMENT - PURE - EFG - CAM ALL THE QUICK MARKETING AGENCIES IN PHILLY sales, marketing, management, vizion, pure, efg, cam, slam-dunk

When I first went for my interview, it seemed normal enough, except that two businesses were in the same building. There was some music playing in the background, but it was turned to a respectable level. I sat down with the office manager and he explained to me what the business does, which was completely different then what they do.

He told me that the company had contracts with many different home improvement companies and that they are hired to do the marketing for the companies. He then told me that the company had 97 offices all over the world, and that he had a surefire process for his salespeople.

He asked me immediately for a second interview, so I scheduled one for the next day. I came in and was immediately sent out with a salesperson for my "Day of O" (Day of Observation). The salesperson asked to ride with me, and I let him. Which later I regretted but I was new to the area and really needed a job, so I let him. Another salesperson followed us to a store in Willow Grove, which was like an hour away from where the office is.

I got to see his sales pitch twice, and yeah it seemed cheesy, but I have a degree in Marketing and Sales, and the whole field can be cheesy. After two hours he told me I could go home, and he gave me the office managers cell number so that I could call him in a couple hours.

Lucky for me I had a GPS in my car and I was able to get home safetly. After a few hours I called the manager and he offered me the job over the phone.

I worked there for 3 days, and what I witnessed shocked and astounded me. The whole job is going to these stores spread out all over creation. Where you harass people as they walk in and try to get them to sign up for free quotes for siding, windows, gutter protection, and doors. And in order to keep your job you have to get 3 to 5 leads (people who sign up) a day. You work Monday through Saturday 9:45am to 7:30pm and you only get one thirty minute break.

When I asked about benefits, time off, and my pay check, I would get brushed off by the management, and when I asked the staff they had no idea.

Then on my third day working there I got my answers. I was talking to another co-worker and she let me know what the company was about.

Basically its a selling-pyramid scheme. They hire you to go out an get leads, when you can maintain so many leads per day, then you can start to train people, when you can handle training up to five people, and maintain your number of leaves then you get promoted. When you are promoted you then move up to a team of 10 people, with those people training other people, meanwhile you are collecting money off of everybody's leads that are under you.

And then when you get high enough up you can open your own office and name it whatever you want, while you collect off of everyone else below you.

So I went in and quit, and I was told by the one assistant manager that if I chose to leave that I will be working for someone for the rest of my life, and that I won't make anything of myself. That he will be making a lot of money and can retire when he is 40... Basically a demeaning, child-like approach. So I turned in my paper work and left.

Whatever you do, do not waste your time with this company. It will just be the biggest mistake of you life.
