Work for No Pay, This company is a Rip Off! Multi Level Scam

Taking advantage of the Unemployed! I have been unemployed for 9 months now, I tried to find work in my field but since that was not going well I thought I would try a different field. I relized that this might mean starting over at the entry level position but I was willing to do that to get work. I applied to Global Marketing Enterprises for a entry level sales job because they said they have a fast progression to management, and prefer only a person who is willing to be a manager.

I went through the initial interview with a 23 year old office manager. This was my initial "Red Flag" because this was not family owned business, so why did he make it to this position so fast? Well like most multi level marketing plans like well known Amway, all you do is recruit new people and you move up the ladder. I was also thinking at best this guy only has 5 years working experience let alone management experience.

Its great he has read a few sales books and can sell but that does not make you a manager. I would not want a person claiming to be a doctor operate on me if they just read a few books either. Or I'm sure any manager for AT&T or First Energy management has more background to be a manager than these guys.By the way they work for AT&T and First Energy trying to lower your gas bill or AT&T selling Uverse. I went through a second interview and spent 4 hours in the field with a sales person showing me the ropes of what they do, door to door sales.

I was then brought back to the office and given a 3rd interview, which key point was "when I could start." Not "we are offering you xyz pay per year, or these are our benefits. I was then called later that night by the sales guy I was with, He hired me, not the office manager, not an assistant manager but the salesman I spent 4 hour with, Red Flag. I was told when walking door to door I would be paid $500 a week plus commissions. This turned out to be a lie. What is real you are 100% commision, no base pay, no draw.

You get $25 per costomer you get (after your training) which means you have to make 4 sales per day x 5 days just to make $500 a week. Of course your in training so that pay goes "upline." I showed up Monday, started filling out the paperwork when I came across the "commission Statement." Commissions While your in "training" which is not explained to how long your "training" period will last, you are not paid but your making sales which goes to you upline person, not you. They go to the "sales person" who "hired" you.

Again Red Flags - why is a sales person hiring me and not a manager? Answer, because your in that salespersons "downline" if they get enough of you to take this on working for nothing, they become a "Assistant Manager" more downline and you can be a "Manager" move to a different city and repeat this process in that city. On GME webpage more red flags, no descussion of benefits at all, on the webpage or in your interview process. Also you must attend "required seminars and you have required reading.

For "new"salesperson this does not seem far fetched, but the seminar are further brainwashing you into there belief system. Also on ther webpage, "opening 50 offices by 2010." Why or How? Because you as a manager are going to set up this pyamid in those cities. A normal company does not expand this fast for a reason, they also don't operate this way for a reason. Its like a house of cards that will crumble. On the BBB website - incorporated in and your building this fast? Red Flag.

The company shows in place since 2000. The owner/President of the company looks to be no more than 30 years old himself. I'm sorry but I don't have alot of confidence in a company full of 20 year olds. I'm 46 and I was the "old guy" for sure. No one in this office from the President down to all salesmen are in there twenties. The bait is money, like most scemes like this. I ask during my interview in the field with my sales person, how much does a Manager make.

Answer in the $200,000 dollar range, Assistant Managers make about $125,000 a year. This is on the edge of legit, the lowering of the gas bill, does happen, or the Uverse from AT&T is real. The part that scams you is this is Not Management, your ability to move up the ladder depends on your ability to "replicate" (there words) yourself, then you don't have to sell, just manage you "sales group." The "manager" get 10% of all sales filtered through the office but does no sales himself.

If you quit, your customers you signed up role up to your "salesman" who hired you, which builds the downline. The pyramid is formed. The "Management" positions comes from repeating this or "replicating" this in other cities. Your management position comes from moving to a new city and starting this sales pyramid in that city. AT&T and First Energy don't mind because they get new customers out of the deal.
