I recently had Home Depot Dumpster Rental Drop off a 20' dumpster with a 3 ton debris limit at my house. I was asked what I intended to put into the dumpster and that there was a charge for being over the three ton limit.
I replied that this would not be a problem since I was putting around 750 square feet of dry rotted surface decking and that the weight would be less that 1000 pounds.
Once the dumpster was dropped off I had it filled and ready to go in under 2 hours. (the wood had been removed from the deck previously) I called for an immediate pickup. They missed the pick-up date by 5 days.
Then the bill came and they charged an extra $25.00 for being over the 3 ton weight limit. They claim it was 3.25 tons. Thats 7280 lbs!
I called to straighten this out and found out that they have multiple operators for taking orders but only 1 person for billing issues. This person was obstinate, rude and clueless. I informed her that I had engineered drawings, pictures and witnesses of what went into the dumpster, none of this mattered to Oakleaf. The conversation ended with Oakleaf hanging up after I informed them that I would have to drive My Durango and my wife's Freestyle into the dumpster to reach the weight that they were claiming. I advise Home Depot removing their name from this Site.
