The dumpster was delivered on May 6 while I was out taking care of personal business. When I returned home I found my front lawn had been damaged, upon further inspection I found that there was a decent amount of damage to my siding. From what I can tell by looking at the tire tracks the truck actually struck the corner of my home.
I check my phone for any messages or incoming calls that I may have missed and found none. The first thing I did was contact the 1-800 number that I called to order the dumpster, the young lady who answered the phone advised me that due to the time of my call that the people I needed to speak to had gone home for the day so I gave her a brief synopsis of what I found and I was advised that someone would get back to me the following day.
When I id not hear from anyone by 1030 the following morning I contacted Oakleaf to advise them of the situation. Well the supervisor Charlie that I spoke with had no knowledge of any such situation. So the driver hit my house with a truck causing damage, did not file a police report, did not report the accident to his supervisiors.
The best offer I received from the dumpster company was that they would replace the damaged pieces of siding which I will not allow to be done until I get an engineer in to make sure that their is no structural damage. I am in contact with home depot's conflict resolution team, I have spoken with my attorney as well and will be contacting the local authorities to complete an accident report this morning.
