I logged in to my Bank of America checking account online as I normally do regularly. All my transactions had gone through as expected. No overdrafts. The balance in my checkbook was exactly the balance as online. This was at 4 P.M. Tuesday. Five minutes later, I rechecked to see that my balance had gone from $15.39 to -$100 in that amount of time. Obviously, all transactions had been successfully posted at that point or the balance online would not have been exactly the balance in my checkbook before someone went into my account and started doing the creative overdrafting. I know this because I had just gotten back from making a debit charge and it was pending. The bank will try to tell you that pending is different from being posted. This is not the case. The money has been subtracted on your end and their end.
The problem was I had written a large check, my direct deposit information had been transmitted to BOA on Tuesday, so what better time to do that good old creative rearranging that they do? Creative=criminal.
They have access to daily transactions, so the bank knows exactly what happened. That everything was fine and someone did their job of squeezing. They obviously prey on smaller accounts, and an account with direct deposit is icing on the cake to this criminal corporation. When I say "they, " I'm referring to Bank of America as a whole.
I have made no purchases since then; however, my balance keeps changing online. Today a purchase has completely disappeared from the online record. It will reappear, though, and they will slam me with more OD charges at 35.00 a pop. They have slammed me with 8 OD charges, which totals 280.00, which is larger than my entire check. I work part-time and depend on my pay for food, etc. I've gone hungry for 2 days now. I keep printing out the daily new, improved creative negative balancing which the wonderful employees are instructed to perform for BOA, as reflected in my online "record, " which is really just a reflection of BOA's criminal intent.
It does no good to talk to customer service. They just cite creative information. They know what's going on, they know you know what's going on, and they're taught to say it's all automatic, etc.; when you have purchases "pending, " that gives them a license to do whatever they want: steal, steal, steal some more. Squeeze the small guys.
I despise banks, and I will not be using one again. Bank of America is going to answer to this. I am going to do whatever I can to get a class action suit going. I've had enough, and it's unethical to do to humans what they are doing in the name of profit. They make more money than oil companies. Let's break them down. If we work together, we can. I would encourage anyone who has had a problem with them to contact lawyers online until you get one who can help. I'll keep posting. I'm trolling for a lawyer now.
