I received a letter today from a certain James Bodkins who claims to be the President of G.S.S. Financial Inc. It says there that I was one of the Second Category Winners of the International Lottery Draw held on June 26. The prize money is $250,000.00.
I tried calling the person listed on the letter and he said that I need to deposit the check first and we will talk on Monday because he is no longer in the office. I thought at first that was believable, however, I started doubting it when I saw the signatures not matching and digitally printed. Not to mention the envelope stamped with Canadian post office and no business name and address. So I searched up the internet and found out that this is an ongoing scam. Good thing I haven't given anything to that company.
The check amounts to $3,990.00 and the tax they wanted me to pay is $2,990.00.
So for anyone who received the same kind of mail, I hope you're reading this.
