I received a phone call on September 12 at 5:41 P.M.in the afternoon. He referred to me as my recent married name and I haven't figured out how they got my name and cell phone no. He started off telling me about how I was qualified to receive a grant for $100,000. I was not really believing what I was hearing but I continue to listen. I asked him what was his name and he told me Bob Williams. He seems to be a foreign accent. I could barely understand what he was saying. The he asked me how much did I need to pay for my children education and my personal use. I responsed by saying about $40,000. He told me the program would be $269.00 to get started. I asked why do I have to pay $269.00 to recieve a free grant and never have to pay it back during my lifetime. He said it was a package for me to review and a procesing fee and if I like it he would debit my account on Sept. 19. He asked me was my routing no. Xxxxxxxx. I said I'm not sure because I don't have my checkbook with me. He said that's okay and he proceeded to ask me for my checking account no. Afterward he transfered me to his supervisor Shawn Phillips to confirm everything. I went along until they ask me do they have my authorization to debit my account on Sept. 19. I proceeded on to tell him I'm not working and I don't have any money. He said call back 3 business days before your draft and get extended date at this no. 800-598-3074. I asked him could I cancel at anytime he said yes. This coversation went on about 30-40 minutes of my cell phone minutes. At the end he put me on with his manager but I didn't get his name. So I finally agreed and received a confirmation no. Soon as I got home I research the internet until I ran across this site. I even called the no. And it was customer information no. From the hours of 7-2 Mon-Thurs and to 12 noon on Fridays. It was not 10-6 as they said. So I immediately called my bank to inquire about changing my account no. And put a stop on the draft for $269.00 with complimentary of my bank working with me on scams. I hope this people will be stopped from trying to rip comsumers and innocent people off. Thank you
