I was contacted by freedom gold telemarketing services with freebies like many other people writing on this website, but I cancelled the services by calling their automated toll free #.
I did not receive any charges from them, but got a echeck debited from my checking account in MArch. I called their # and cancelled the payment on phone (an automated service of course).
I got suspicious and called them again the next day to confirm whether my account was cancelled and managed to get a real person on phone. To my surprise the account was still active. I was given an address to send my written request for cancellation this time.
I called again to check for consistency of there response. This time I was given a different address with a complaint # too. I sent the request for cancellation through a certified mail. Waiting for a month, I checked their #, there was no response, I called their other # in florida (813 area code) and got a bank.
I have contacted my bank about this fraud, and they have registered my case (before 2 month period, as your website has suggested.
