Wal-Mart Pharmacy
Wal-Mart Pharmacy at 4311 E. Kolonels Way, Port Angeles, WA (98362) - Prednisolon ACEO OP 1% SUS

I have undergone two surgeries to replace my cataracts with artificial lenses. My doctor prescribed Prednisolon Acet Op %1 Sus to be used daily at very specific intervals. When I had my second surgery on 4/9, my doctor's office sent a prescription renewal for this drug to the Port Angeles Walmart Pharmacy where I have my Humana account.

When I tried to pick up my prescription at 1:30 on 4/11 the woman at the Drop-Off window, whose name is "Barb, " said she had no record of my prescription. Since I am on a strict schedule to use this eye drop in my surgically corrected eye, I asked her WHAT HAPPENED? Her imvediate response to me was a rude, "So you think it's all our fault, don't you?" I said I had no idea what had caused the problem but that I had to follow a strict schedule of medication after my catarat surgery.

I gave her the name of my doctor, told her that I knew the woman who handled his prescriptions and gave that name to her. Barb at drop-off said my prescription would be ready in 45 minutes. I returned to her window an hour later and she said, and I quote, "Your doctor's office told me they didn't have a fax machine and they don't know where your prescription went."

I used my cell phone to call the woman I knew in my doctor's office and asked if she had ever been contacted by Barb or anyone else at the Port Angeles Walmart Pharmacy. She said NO, that my prescription was deliverd to that pharmacy by E-fax, the computer email fax system, which her office DID use to send prescriptions. I had that conversbtion in front of Barb since my prescription for my first cataract surgery drugs had been ready and waiting when I picked them up a day later.

After my asking her to recant her story, which she dechined to do, Barb did find my prescription, but told me there were "at least a hundred prescriptions ahead of mine."

It had been two and a half hours after I first tried to pick up my prescription. When I told Barb that using this drug in my surgical eye was CRITICAL to healing properly, she responded that there was nothing she could do. I told her she could PUT MY PRESCRIPTION at the head on the line as an emergency. Again she said I would have to wait at the end of the 100 line...

I asked to speak to the pharmacist on duty, a Mr. Colby. And HE first told me there was nothing he could do either. When I emphasized that I needed this drug NOW for my cataract surgery, he told me to come back in 30 mibutes.

I used that 30 minutes to find this Walmart store's manager. She emphasized that the pharmacy in her store was NOT affiliated with Walmart. When I asked for the name and phone number of the concessionare who owned and operated the pharmacy in her store, she gave me the Walmart number in Bentonville.

My prescription was finally ready 3 days and three hours later. There was a robocall on my phone tape when I got home telling me my prescription was ready...

I use a delivery service through Humana for the drugs I customarily take, but this prescription was an exception and I needed it immediately. Not a month later. I sincerely hope that anyone in Port Angeles who requires an emergency prescription for a heart condition or cataract surgery will use ANY OTHER PHJRMACY but the one in the PA Walmart.
