Ripoff of unclear membership to multiple programs

Exactly on October 22nd 2004 I, Lisa Vorburger, received a call at my home from Premier Benefits about a Movie Pass program. The lady representing Premier Benefits, Pamela Jones #0356, explained to me that I was one of the lucky Americans that was chosen to try out their program risk free for 10 days. She also explained that I would get a free gift of 4 non-expiring movie passes and a non-expiring $200.00 gift card that I could use anywhere just for trying the program out. She said all it would cost me was one payment of $3.95.

Of course being skeptical of on the phone advertisement I asked her what was the catch. Pamela said there was no catch, it was catch free, all it would cost me was one payment of $3.95, and I would get a letter in the mail within 3-4 days. I was still skeptical and when she said that she needed my checking account number for payment I tried to get out of the deal by saying I didn't have my number at hand, but she again explained that it was an offer of a lifetime and I would get free gifts valuing at $200 for only $3.95.

I final gave in and she transferred my over to what must have been a manager and with him he assured me that everything Pamela said was factual that the conversations were recorded if any problems were to occur and that nothing I was told was a lie. He then guided me through an automated questioner where I had to confirm some information by stating it on the phone. Then I got a question about if I was agreeing to some phone service and I said no the manager asked me why I said no and I told him that is not what was offered. I told him I didn't want it and that I did not manage the phone bills in my household. He said well how about we send you some information about it, I said sure and I was continued through the questioner.

About a week later I still hadn't received any information about the movie pass plan and I was dissatisfied with that. I called them up, before receiving any mail from them, and said I wanted to cancel the whole deal that I hadn't received the letter and that I was very dissatisfied. A couple days later, approximately November 2nd I received the letter that I was supposed to get and all it was were forms to fill out to redeem the service. I then thought to myself that I had just paid a ridiculous $3.95 for shipping and handling for a few pieces of paper. I thought well that wasn't too much of a loss it was canceled and done with I could move on.

Then as I was checking my checking account online, approximately November 20th I noticed that their company had charged me 2 payments of $3.95 and also a payment of $149.90. I didn't know off hand it was the company but as I checked with my bank it was them and I was outraged. I called them up that minute and talked calmly to a representative. I told her that I did not know what they had just charged me for but I did not agree to it and I wanted my money back. Without any rebuttal she said that she would send me a paper in the mail that I would have to fill out and that I would get my $149.90 back after I returned it. I also complained about the second charge of $3.95 but she said that was not refundable even though I had never agreed to sign up for that program. I also canceled that membership too.

It has been six days since I talked to them last and I still haven't received any letter from that I'm not too worried since there was the holiday season to consider, but this company was very sly and tacky. They are very unorganized and need to be stopped from their fraud like tactics. I do want all my money back. It was a complete scam/hoax.
