Their Websites are a REAL RIPOFF! $3000.00 for a Website from SMC & Emerchantclub bait and switch tactics. They cannot force you to buy their websites! California

About a year ago my wife and I paid almost $3000.00 for a Website from SMC & Emerchantclub (money we did not have)

We found out very quickly about customer service and how you will be charged for every little change that you need.

You pay for the Website in full upfront. The Website takes about 45 Days before you can see it. There is some pressure to buy buy buy. When we got the website it was ugly. Super Ugully! We finally decided to dump the site.

Emerchant club wanted to charge me over $500.00 for upgrades this past summer.

SMC even had the nerve to put smcinternet on some type of fraud alert on their website, telling members that they could not purchase websites from other companies or they would cancel my $300.00 plus membership (they want everyone to purchase from emerchant club because they own emerchant club) They even tell you that they have no ownership role in emerchant club. Well guess what they do.

I had my attorney to contact them about this so called fraud alert and their response was that
1. That they do not have a COURT ORDER against SMC Internet

2. As long as the company clearly states that they are not SMCORP their is no law being broken

3."members are free to purchase a website from any where they choose" and that it is not their policy to cancel my membership since I purchased a website from another company.

If someone has experienced this same problem please respond below.

They cannot force you to buy their websites! You have legal rights.

SMC does have some nice products, and they should stick to selling products.

They try and nickel and dime you every way that you can. Has anyone else felt the pressure to buy their websites? It started with the $25.00 tv commercial, then the $300.00 membership with the free website, well its not free you can not even sell products from it, then they tell you about the "ecommerce websites" which range from $900.00 to $3000.00 and counting.

Please share your experience with us and please don't be intimidated by their bait and switch tactics. I am not alone, this forum should be full of reviews (good and bad).

If you want your business to be blessed you have to share your experiences with SMC on this forum so it will help and not hurt people that are considering SMC. Just think if someone had told you could save $3000.00 or more, how would you feel?
