Bad exams bad customer service

I took my daughter for an eye exam to get glasses and contacts quickly for volleyball. I was told over the phone that I could get it all in one trip while I waited. I even aske about getting anti glare on the lenses and was told yes I could get that. We made the trip which cost me $30 in gas but I was going to be saving money and time by getting it all done at once. I found out after paying for the exam that they cannot do anti glare while I wait so it was going to cost another $30 in gas to come back and get the lenses put into the frames. I paid for everything. Then they did not have the right prescription for her contacts and switched her to another brand. She told them that day that there was a fuzzy line around everything and her eyes were not working together. They said she just needed to get used to them. After a week I called back and told them the issue was persisting so they recommended a different brand and shipped a sample to us. She still had the same problems so after a couple weeks I called again and asked for my money back so that i could get her checked locally. They said they could not do that but could recheck her eyes. For my troubles they were going to waive the upgrade fee for different brand of contacts. So my 2nd trip down for a recheck and it is still not clear but she said she can deal with it. I called to tell them that the next brand they gave her would not stay on her eyes and we wanted to go back to the previous brand but with the new prescription. They sent another sample to us but with a bill for the contact upgrade fee. I called them after a couple of weeks so that we could just order the contacts and be done with it and I questioned whether the glasses would be correct when we got them since the prescription had to be changed for the contacts. They assured me that they would be correct and argues with me over the upgrade fee that they promised to refund. They finally agreed to waive the fee again. We drove back down, another $30 in gas to get the lenses put into her frames and pick up the contacts. They did not have her try the glasses on after putting the lenses in but I asked my daughter to at least take her contacts out and try the glasses on quick. She said they seemed ok and put them away. A couple days later she decided to wear her glasses only to find that they messed up the fit and there was a fuzzy line around everything and her eyes were not working together, just like the contacts... We had to take them in to our local Walmart vision center and have the frames adjusted and old lenses put back in! After the holidays I called them to again ask for my money back so that I could get her exam done locally and get it done right. They again said that they cannot do that but they can check her again. They then began to blame her for the bad exam because she did not tell the dr that he never got to a crystal clear lens. She has never had to tell the drs anything before! They just keep checking for the correct prescription until they get a clear lens. I explained to them that it was not a good exam at all since he never mentioned the white spot in her eye that our Walmart optometrist found and measures every time to make sure it hasnt changed. They refuse to refund for bad services rendered and expect us to drive back AGAIN for another exam and then again to pick the lenses up and hope they are right this time. This will cost me another $60 in gas! I cannot afford to keep paying for their mistakes! I want my money back so I can get it done right locally. I have learned my lesson! Do not try to save time and money going somewhere else, stick with what works! I did not realize that it was this difficult to fit a kid to glasses and contacts since it has never been a problem before!
