My boyfriend had used this company before — and even though I had a bad experience with them years ago — he was paying and insisted we go there.
Before making the appoinment I called _twice_ to research prices, what you get in the eye club, and ask a few questions. I wanted new lenses put in some older frames that I had and asked the price of that specifically as well as if I could get multiple contact prescriptions (for different brand names) written that day.
I was told yes, I could get new glasses lenses for $40 total price and yes, no problem for the Dr to write a prescription that day for several different brands of contacts.
We went in, waited 45 mins for the appointments then got the eye exam, paid the $200 price for the eye club deal and I was told they didn't have any sample contacts for me to try my prescription (it's NOT an unusual one.) They had me take out my old ones when I came in and they had none for me to wear to drive home.
I was also given a completely different story about price to get my lenses made for my glasses... That they'd cost $120.00 instead of $40 and there was some song and dance about the lenses being small and had to be plastic. Which I knew was bs.
The next thing was the Dr only gave me a prescription for their brand of contacts. I asked for a script for more brands and was told I needed to come back for a follow up with the prescription he wrote me for (which they had none of) to "make sure they were working for me.")
Now — I have had contacts for more than 20 years... Never had any problems and didn't need him to "recheck" me or a follow up for every brand but that is what they insisted they "have to do." Funny, no place else I have ever gone has done that?
So now, I paid $100 and walked out with NOTHING! No contacts, no prescription, no glasses. I have called and talked to them several times and they insist I need to come back in for another eye exam and then be "fitted" again a week later. I don't have time to keep going back and have entertained the idea of suing them in small claims court.
I am likely going to pursue getting a refund at this point because I really don't want their shoddy exam, products or hahaha supposed "customer service."
I will go back to the place I have been happy that has decent prices and great service.
