I bought Magic Jack Plus to have savings w/o hooking device to computer. Magic Jack never worked with router hookup as advertised. The technical support tried to fix it, I was referred to 3 levels of support: level 1,2, and 3 on "chat" window support. I spent a whole afternoon on the phone. MJ continued to generate message, "please wait... Errorr xxxx, check internet connection (whic was working because I was chatting with MJ tech over the internet. About 5pm, the MJ L3 tech told me to reboot my router or unplug it while I was on the chatI was concerned we would be disconnected. He never contacted me back after we lost our chat conversation.
I bought MJ Plus to 1) use computer and phone at the same time (need router connection) so I bought a router. 2) Primarily purchased MJ for use for conference calls (which MJ does not support basic advertised yearly service). MJ service use for fax has not worked as well. Bottom line, I need to find another service provider for unlimited calls (including conference, faxes that works with router configuration. I view as a "backup" service because it did not meet my expectations. As far as quality, voice service is not so clear and it sometimes takes a long time to get a dial tone.
MJ proposed solution for customers who want conference call capability, "buy additional minutes". The reason I switched to MJ was to save money and this has not happened.
