I purchased a computer from Best Buy on Nov 16. I picked out a computer that had a pentium and 120 gb hard drive. I then left the store while they were persumably setting up the computer. When I returned I did not look at the computer I paid for it went home and set it up. The last computer I had only had 1 gb of ram and the modem went out so I had been without a computer for 2 months. So needless to say I was excited about my new computer.
It wasn't until a couple of months later that my computer was slowing down and I checked to see how many gb I was using. Much to my shock it said I had a total of 80 gb on my computer. Then I looked further and saw I had an AMD ANTHLON not the pentium that I had picked out I grabbed my receipt and saw that is what I was billed for. So obviously when I had gone back to pick up my computer they sold me the wrong one. Well I thought there is no way I can prove this so I guess I am stuck with this computer next time I will know better to check out what I walk out of the store with.
Well in June my CD_RW writer broke and since I had a 199.00 warranty on it not to mention that hp still had a warranty on it at that point also. Well I left the computer with Best Buy and a couple of days later they called and told me they couldn't fix my cd=rw because it was an after market brand. I said what are you talking about I just bought that computer 7 months ago why would I put in a different cd-rw inside.
I asked to talk to a manager but of course after 30 min no one came to the phone. So I drove 30 miles down there. I was furious. I told them I had purchased a warranty with my computer and they said the cd-rw writer was not covered. I told them I had gotten the wrong computer that obviously someone had picked out this computer and didn't think the cd=rw writer was fast enough and had the cd changed. I was sure if they would look back and check there records. Or really if there techs would just think for a minute they must have had to change 2 computers that day for this man because he probably wasn't as stupid as I was. When I had brought this in the first day the tech had said wow you have 512 mb sdram. I said is that good! I have no knowledge of what that meant but I am sure the man who had picked this out did so he knew what he was doing and if he had gone home with the wrong computer I am sure there is a record of him bringing it back..
But no one would check into anything. I told them that no matter what computer I walked out of the store with I had purchased a warranty for $199.00 and they needed to fix my computer. Well they refused. I started screaming and they said they would call the police. I said that is a good idea and called the police myself. When the police man arrivied. He told me that he to had been ripped of by Best Buy and would never buy anything from them again.
Well I did not want to take my computer home but he said I needed to bring it home and try to fight it from there. Well time passed and I finally got a letter off to Brad Anderson their CEO Today I got a letter back saying they valued me as a customer. Ha Ha. However there is simply no way for the corporate office to verify your claim about being given the wrong computer at the time for the sale, or the issue regarding the cdrw now inside. For this reason BEST BUY will be unable to provide a replacement computer, a new cd-rw drive installed at no cost, or any action regarding any oustanding balance still owed on your account.
So basically they are calling me a liar and no one has taken the time to investigate. After all they did take that hp CD_RW writer out what did they do with it Some employee just take it home with them. I will never ever put my foot inside that door again.
