Fail to honor extended warranty

The Best Buy extended warranty provided by their Geek Squad is basically worthless. I bought a Kodak all in printer with wireless, wired and USB capabilities. I set it up to use the Wireless connection to our home network and it ran fine for a couple of months. Then suddenly the printer could no longer be seen by any of the computers in the house.

I took the printer to the West Dundee Illinois Best Buy Geek Squad service center. I tried to explain to the agent behind the counter what the problem was and he told me I would have to bring my computer in so they could test the printer because they had no computer there that could link to the printer.

I said here is the install disk set it up on your company machine and test it. They said they were not allowed to install anything on their company equipment. I needed to bring in my computer. I told them the problem was that it could not communicate through the wireless and in order to test it properly they would have to test through a wireless connection. They couldn't do that. I said fine then replace the printer with one that works. They wouldn't do that. They would have to come to our house. To do what? Prove what I already know! If this collection of incompetents is going to represent themselves as a fix it outfit they need to get the proper equipment to test what they sell service contracts for.

I'm done with Best Buy. They aren't the only big box store around and they aren't always the "best buy" if their service contract is worthless then there is no point in going there.
